Are your brake lights coming on? If so have the shift interlock control system checked-could be the shift lock solenoid preventing it.

Well, I have looked online and lots of people say it is these small pink parts in the shifter, and I also read that they may break.

Common problem shift lever assembly in floor console. Do not use Chrysler part go to NAPA for Dorman replacement made of aluminum.
