I installed a battery wrong and blew a fuse. After replacing it the car still wont start. Why?

I mixed up the connections when I connected the terminals. I've checkked all the fuses. The fuse was a 40 amp. The motor turns but it doesn't stay on. It sounds like it is out of gas and the check engine light is on.

Check all the other fuses as well. In most cases there are computer modules that do not survive from voltage spikes from the battery cables on backwards.

You will need help with this from a shop.

Get a scan doen for the MIL indicating. It could give you a clue what to look for.
