Check the park brake switch on the park brake pedal. Sometimes it becomes misaligned and will thurn on the light. The computer thinks that you are driving with the park brake on and turns on the chime.

Check the brake fluid level as well.
Next have the front wheel bearings checked [check your local alignment shops, some will do FREE suspension inspections] Don't buy ANYTHING until you post the results here for further assistance.

Ok the chimes was from the parking brake not being back all the way, but the ABS and brake light are still on all the time. What are AC values suppose to be for the wheel sensors when spinning tires. Thanks!

If you ae sure that is the problem that's ok, but you still have to scan it as your brake light is on it will be something more than a sensor or wire.

Check the brake fluid level (i'm sure you've already did that, but I have to suggest it)

Have a shop scan the ABS codes (the parts stores usually can't scan for these codes). Post the codes here and we'll be glad to assist you further.

Brake light, abs light and "please service brake" are on. Brakes have less than 15,000 miles since done. Shop that did them has checked every thing get "500" code. Number does not show on chart. Second place said same thing dealer wants $100.00 to put on machine.

It is probably the ABS sensors on the front hub, because they are magnetic when your brakes were down pieces of metal stick to the sensors, remove the sensors and clean them, take it back to your local or parts store and have been cleared the code This video will show you how to fix the hub and sensor.

Hello and thank you for using 2CarPros. The first thing you would need to do is scan the ABS module for codes. If you have a relay code fault then the ABS module is bad.

You mentioned you had the module apart. Just looking at it you will not see anything. You need a magnifying glass to check every solder point to look for a break. And that is what happens with relay codes. The solder breaks. I can not say for sure until you have the module scanned and post the codes on here.

You need to have the codes read to know why the ABS light is on. The brake computer has read something that is wrong and has turned on that light to let you know something isnt right. Cant tell anything until we know what the code is.

Your simple, dandy observation indicates everything is okay electrically. Broken wires to wheel speed sensors and other components would show up right away during the initial six-second self test, then the yellow warning light would not turn off at all. The ABS computer is detecting a problem that is mechanical in nature, and only shows up when the wheels are rotating. The typical suspect is the signal is missing from one speed sensor or it is too weak for the computer to read. All speed sensor signals get weaker at slower speeds.

The place to start is by reading and recording the diagnostic fault codes. This probably can't be done for free by the people at the auto parts stores, but you can ask anyway. Most of them can only read fault codes in Engine Computers. You most likely will have to use a scanner that can access your ABS computer.

Forgot to mention that I recorded a code 37. Which is erratic vehicle speed sensor. Question was that after engine started to move several feet the anti brake light would come on. Stop cut the engine off and started it again light is off until I move again.

Good morning,

The code is for a rear wheel speed sensor reading all over the place. these sensors are common failures.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/abs-wheel-speed-sensor-test

The ABS system resets itself after you turn off the truck. then when you start it, the light will be out until it starts moving and the module sees the failure and then the light will turn on.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-an-abs-wheel-speed-sensor

When you fix the issue, there will be no need to reset. if the module does not see the failure anymore, the light will not return.

Roy

The brake light on the dash comes on when cruising around at steady speeds and stays on, when I turn off the engine and start it again the light is off, only comes on when I am driving. No change in the feel of the peddle, or braking. I checked the fluid and it was okay.

It may be an abs sensor bad or wiring going to it has grounded out against the frame etc. Check in front and back sensor wires they are very small so if it is doing that it could be needing insulation and possibly moving out of way. Also check for a small piece of rust hitting sensor as that could cause it as well.

Welcome to the forum, maybe an issue with the parking brake switch? Unplug the switch, see if the lite stays off. On some systems, same warning lite for parking and regular vehicle brakes. Where applicable, you may need to check abs trouble-codes.
