Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Have you checked for issues with the idle air control valve?

No the engine light dose not comes on. I haven't done or check anything. I'm not sure where to start. I have the transmission oil change last summer. I never had a tune up since getting the vehicle in 2008. It don't slip in gear. I'm trying to see which way to go, before spending money on the wrong thing.

No, there are no vacuum supplies to the converter. However, that doesn't mean there isn't an issue there. Is there only 13K miles on this vehicle?

If you haven't tuned it up for a long time, you should check things to see if they need replaced. It is hard to say what is causing it without the check engine light being on. Without it, everything becomes a guessing game. These are things I would recommend that you check.

Check for:

vacuum leaks
fuel pump pressure
tune up
throttle body for being dirty (maybe run a good injection cleaner through it)
trans fluid is clean and full

I know it seems like a lot, but any of these things could cause this type of problem.

The exhaust system is one more thing I am thinking that could be the problem.

A partially plugged catalytic converter could cause this.
