Dealership says I have a rear main leak on my 2004 Tundra double cab 4wd 4.7 65700mi. I have never seen any oil drips on the concrete. They say its going to be $952.00 to repair. Going to get another opinion. Can this get bad quick. Getting ready to take a trip and just wondering if this can be taken care of, when I get back?

If rear main was leaking enough to need replacement you would see oil leaking

There is visible oil around the rear main seal, when I looked underneath with a creeper, but not hitting the floor yet. Can this get bad quick or does it take a lot of time to get bad usually? Taking it to a transmission guy tomorrow to look at. I am afraid he will tell me it needs fixed right away. Even if he does, I am sure it will be cheaper than the dealership.

Could leak little bit for years or take a dump no way to tell. But you got time if it is that small when it gets to a quart every week then its time
