You know we can't diagnose this over a computer with no details or observations to analyze. The best I can offer is to look on the engine for the highest place you see oil. It has to be leaking pretty good if you can smell it. Leaking valve cover gaskets are always a good suspect with smoke because the oil can run down onto the hot exhaust manifold.
If you can't see anything obvious, you can wash the area with engine degreaser, then add a small bottle of dark purple dye to the oil. Check it a little while later with a black light. The dye will show up as a bright yellow stain that you can follow back to the source. Auto parts stores have the dye, and those that rent or borrow tools should have the black light.
If the leak is bad enough, you can also use a smoke machine to inject white, non-toxic smoke into the dip stick tube, then you watch for where it sneaks out. This will usually not work if the leak is from a pressurized passage that is full of oil.
