Where is the crank sensor?

The PCM needs to be programed and SKIM secret key data must be programed for vehicle to run. Sorry don't have any money saving tips.

I own a 2001 t&c lxi with 150000 miles.
A few days ago it just would not fire.
We tried replaceing coil and the crank shaft, no fire.
Fuel flows, electric is fine.
Some guy ran hooked it up and got some codes(i don't know which).
He says I need to replace the bcm(body control module).
Another shop took their chances or "my chances" I should say, and claims I need a pcm not a bcm.
I am realy hoping this could be done without spending a furtone.
I was wondering how did it work out for you, it seems you had a similar problem.

My crankshaft sensor broke off bad and will not move if I knock it in and retrieve it what pan will I drop transmission or oil need help.

Hi Damon,

I would not try to knock this through. First of all, I doubt it will actually go through because the sensor sits just over a tone wheel and if you even get it through there then you will more than likely damage this tone wheel and then you will be removing the transmission to replace it.

This sits in the bell housing of the transmission and as I said, if it goes through it will not just fall into the oil pan because it is on the top of the transmission and there is not enough clearance between the case and the components inside for it to fall.

I am not sure the best way to get it out but knocking it in will almost guarantee you removing and disassembling the transmission.

Can you get a picture of what it looks like so I can see what we are dealing with and I will see if I have any ideas? Thanks

Holy cow. What is the black around the sensor and on the case? Is that from a torch? If so, the plastic may be melted to the case which is why it is so hard to get out.

I would suggest drilling it out if you can get a drill down there. If not, what you are doing is the best way. Are you trying to put a set of pliers on those two screws and turn it like a screw to break it loose?

If that is just dirt and grime then I would try to soak it in some sort or penetrating oil to try and free some of it up.

Worst case just use a larger and larger screw. Do you have room to get a small slide hammer in there? They have some with a vice grip attachment so you can put it an angle.

Let me know what you have tried and if none of this works and we can go deeper.

On a 2008 Chrysler town and country touring 3.8 can I remove the coil pack and get to the crankshaft position sensor?
