Hi guys I am new here but my x5 has a slight problem but before I tell you I'll state for the record this cars been off the road since 2012 I was working abroad and I had to leave like next day so it was left in lock up for 2 years I looked it over before I started her this morning I got back last week I work on merchant shipping. I was wondering if you guys thing the cylinder head has gone as there's slight yellow gunge on the oil cap I assume it's because its been lying for years I will do an oil change and filter change but do you guys think it could be just because its been sitting so long or do you think it's a head gasket

A cylinder head gasket didn't start leaking and put coolant on the oil cap without the engine running. If you're seeing a cream-colored glop, that is most likely moisture that condensed on the cap. An engine needs a good 20 to 30 mile run at highway speeds about once per week to get warm enough to vaporize that condensation so it can be drawn out by the PCV system. If there's no other symptoms, you most likely have nothing to worry about.
