I've replaced coolant jug, Thermostat, water pump and timing belt on my 2003 Concorde and bled the system of all air, but car still runs hot. So my question is what makes the coolant fans switch from low to high? Could the fans be the problem?

Hello,

Ok, I have found that even with a bleeder valve you cannot always get all air out of system using it first go around. There could still be an air pocket, I had a vehicle that took me over 2 hours to finally get the bubble out. What I done was jack the side of the vehicle with the bleeder up as high as you can safely jack it start vehicle and run make sure heater is on full. Warm to Operating temp then Hold idle at about 2000 till reaches about 3/4 to red area. Turn engine off let cool for about 10 minutes and carefully Bleed. Repeat as necessary till temp keeps steady. While doing this also listen out for the Fan Speed change from Low to high.

Is you engine light on? If not then most likely your fans are working normally, the Coolant Temp Sensor controls the Fans so if no light then shouldn't be any problems.
