Engine running rough I think the water pump is bad

2003 malibu running rough temp not overheating I think the water pump is not working will the car run rough even if the water temp is not overheating. It loks like at one time antifreeze came from water pump. Car started to ruh rough like it had water in gas temp not overheating. Water resevoir is full and fans work

I would start with a compression test. A leak down test will confirm no head gasket issue. Then the plugs, wires, coils need to be checked as well.

Was the check engine light on? If so, what code.
