my car seems to shift gears late

Hi,My 2002 Mercury Mountaineer SUV seem to shift gears late and makes a slamming noise when it does. It does not accelerate as normal and when it shifts into the new higher gear, it still does not accelerate. Up hill driving seem difficult now for this ve Checked the brain box and gear oil already
