Very loud rattling type Noise appeared after driving for about 30 minutes,
rarely present when car is cold but after driving the vehicle for awhile
and hearing the noise, if you then wait for about 30 to 45 minutes with
the engine off, the noise then is heard when you start up the engine.
This happened in July and the mechanic said it was a wheel bearing which
he replaced/Repaired. Now the noise is back. Friends have told me if it were a
Wheel bearing, you Wouldn't hear the noise when car was idling. I am (honest injun)
a widow on a fixed income. I can't afford this "hit & miss" approach. I realize car is
getting old. You just feel so Vulnerable when you don't know Jack about car repairs.
Thank you and God bless.

If this noise is only heard while driving the vehicle (it is moving) then it could be a wheel bearing but this noise is there pretty much all the time. Most any bearing noise will not come and go.

Due to when this happens, I am hoping this is not an engine noise, so we need to get a recording of this and go from there.

However, we can also drain the oil and check for metal and find out what is there.

I am attaching the info below on how to check the wheel bearings so we should do this as well.

Please run through this info and let me know what you find. Thanks
