This sounds like one of two issues. Either a weak fuel pump or a crank sensor. However, a crank sensor would normally cause the vehicle to stall and that is not what you are seeing.
So I would start with a fuel pump issue. Basically if the pump get hot it will supply just enough pressure to keep it running but may not provide enough to get it started. So we need to start with checking the pressure.
