My truck seems to run rough when I accelerate slowly it sounds like its misfiring. The truck sounds fine when it idles and accelerates quickly. It also seems to sound fine when maintaining a speed. I changes the spark plugs and that didnt help. I think the problem could be the fuel injectors but I really dont know.

Hi allenw, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Check and test the throttle position and mass aiflow sensors also check injectors and oxygen sensors, EGR valve opening too soon-try running an injection cleaner thru and see what happens

Hey guys, I got a F150 with 5.4, V8. I am ready to change the plugs and noticed coils have to be removed to get to the plugs. Looks like fuel rails are in the way of some plugs. Any suggestions on removing rails or can I get around them?

Shouldnt have any problem with them there, you can use universal joints and extensions to get at a good angle.

Engine Performance problem V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 175000 miles

i recently changed the plugs in my 2000 f150 w/ 5.4 triton. It had developed a miss. When I pulled the plugs, all wells had some amount of oil in them. #2 were pretty full. Ran great for about 2 weeks and miss is back? Don't know if oil is already back in holes yet. I know I need to change the boots as they were swelled from the oil. My question is how is the oil getting in the wells? Engine seems pretty dry on the outside. Thanks larry

On this truck when this happens it means the spark plug is bad leaking a small amount for compression and oil which accumulates in the plug wheel. Change the spark plugs and it will go away. Here is a video to show you how.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers
