How do you replace the valve cover gaskets on a 2002 dodge caravan se? I was told that I should take off the intake manifold and wiper assemply is that correct? And do I need to replace any other parts or gaskets at the same time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

The intake plenum has to come off to remove the rear valve cover. You might be able to buy new gaskets but there aren't any in there now. They use liquid gasket sealer. The best sealer is Mopar silicone gasket sealer. There are two to pick from. The black stuff stays a little more rubbery and it absolutely will not bond and seal if there is any film of oil on either of the surfaces. They must be perfectly clean and dry.

The gray stuff gets harder and it will bond through a film of oil. It's still good practice to have both surfaces clean and dry. Don't get carried away with the tightness of the bolts. Hand tight with a small ratchet is sufficient.
