I'm in Western NC and have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring 2.7 Sedan. I have been told that I need a ball joint and tie rod replacementfor the front right. How much should the parts cost and how much should labor be on this repair?

The upper ball joint takes about an hour to replace. The lower one could take an hour and a half. An outer tie rod can be replaced in less than 15 minutes as long as it isn't rusted tight. That doesn't include the time needed to drive the car in and set it up on a hoist. An inner tie rod can take a couple of hours. They are not available from the dealer but they are available from aftermarket suppliers.

Prices on the ball joints range from $12.00 to $74.00. The tie rod end varies from less than four dollars to almost $49.00. There are two different Sebring models. The prices depend on which model you have. Also, they are from an online discount warehouse. Local prices will likely be higher.
