I have a 2001 Saab 9-5 SE (6 Cyl Turbo). When I have driven the car for about 30 minutes and the engine heats up my auto transmission slips from a stop in low gear in a loud manner. The car performs normally when cold/cool - as in the morning after sitting for hours. This occurred in Jan. 2011, was advised to replace the trans. - Got a used one which worked until Sept. 2011, then the same problem occurred. Now I am having yet another one put in, however am thinking there may be a causative factor ie: transmission cooling or electrical failure that keeps ruining or causing the slipping. IN other words, the problem may not go away. Any suggestions?

You should always replace any external transmission oil cooler when replacing a transmission, even if it is only part blocked and appears to have good flow, you can still have problems, I would get a new cooler fitted with the trans, also second hand trans always run the risk of problems, you just do not know the history of the unit.
