If I take out and clean the EGR Valve how do I know if its going to work or not? How do I even know if its faulty? I can move it with manual pressure but all of the symptoms for EGR valve are dead on from whats going on with my car. I just dont want to waste time cleaning it if its actually a replacement issue. If I do clean it how can I tell if its ok?

The EGR is nothing more than a valve that opens and closes. Remove it and check for carbon build-up. Check both the EGR and where it connects to the intake. The intake will often times carbon shut. As far as operation, once it is cleaned, apply vacuum to it to see if the valve responds by opening and make sure it seals closed when the vacuum is removed.
