2001 Nissan Bluebird Brake lights wont switch on

My brake light wont switch on when the brake pedal is pushed down. what could be the problem.

Check for a blown fuse and test with a test light if you have power on both sides of the brake light switch with the pedal down, if no power through the switch it will be a faulty brake light switch, the switch is on the top of the brake pedal.
