2001 Jaguar S Type Sudden One Day Oil Light Came On Start Making Knocking Noise

All sudden one day my oil light came on and it start making a knocking like noise from the bottom it was full on oil when i checked i took. It to get checked. They stated from the diagnos it need oil actuator cylonoid in the oil pan i would like your opinion'i hope its not my engine!

the knock is bearing noise due to lack of oil pressure, depending on how long this was going on will depend on how much damage has been done, i would be checking the pressure relief valve and re checking oil pressure, how long was it knocking for?
