Loss of power

I have a 2001 ford taurus 3.0 v-6 engine. I purchased this vehicle used, as I begin to drive it, the car begins to lose power, the lights will go dim and eventually I lose all power and need a jump, but it doesnt work for long.I have replaced the battery. I have no alarm system in it. I did replace the battery and the alternator in the last week. I do see a "theft" light that blinks.

Yes it blinks, but does not stay on.

Yes I can drive the vehicle, but not for long. Especially when I use the headlights it begins to lose power and eventually dies out. I noticed the theft light does not blink continually, when I turn the car on or off is when it blinks. It seems to be alerting only that there is an alarm present

Test voltage at battery when car is running.
