All 4 of my windows just stopped working. Checked and seen no fuse for the windows, assume they are controlled by a relay or circuit breaker. Dont have a car manual, so not sure the location to look and find either of the two. Windows not working can someone please help me out?

May need to pull the panal of and get a look inside, window regulator may be bad or the motor may be bad by sounds of it. Hot wire the motor and see if it works once the panal is off.

IT may be a binding regulator, short in the motor, wiring or switch is what I would expect.

You need to test the switch, and the motor, test the motor by removing the trim panel, unplug the motor connector, activate the switch, in both directions while testing the leads with a volt meter, or test light. If the light comes on, the problem is the motor, if not the wiring or switch is bad. Replace motor this way.

Hi:
Without checking, my first guess would be the main switch on the driver's door. Check for power to the rear motor and front. Let me know if there is power. If there isn't, replace the switch.

Computer problem
1998 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Automatic

Two of my power windows do not work at all. One of these windows will not stay closed. It slips down constantly even when the car is still. Until I can get the car repaired, what do I do in the meantime to keep it closed? Thank you.

IF there is any portion of the window exposed, pull up while holding the button to raise it, pound on the panel to try to jar it and you may get lucky.

If not pull the panel and see what is going on inside. Have seen a lot of regulators go bad on these.

Once the panel is off you can better see what to do. If money is an issue you can raise the glass and block it with a piece of wood.

Electrical problem
2000 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

driver side window failed in the down position. The up side of the switch feels soft when pressed to raise window. I suspect a switch problem.

Can I jump around the controls and get the window in the up position while I wait for a new switch?

Can I supply 12v to the motor and make it raise the window? There are 2 wires to the motor.

Yes you should be able to jump the wires to get the window up. Most dealers have the switch in stock other wise go to the local junk yard

I have power windows. I lowered my drivers side window and now it will not go back up, it will however continue to go down. All the other windows go up and down. The passenger side front window will not open using the button on the drivers door, only the passenger can lower it with their button. Any ideas what it may be? How can I get the wondow up right now, it is pouring rain outside of course.

Okay, no big deal. The window regulator in the drivers door has gone south forever. You will need a new regulator and I believe they are a regulator & motor assembly.

Let me know if you have questions!

So until I can replace the regulator and or motor will I be able to manually put the window up if I remove the door panel? Since the window works as far as going down perhaps it's not the motor?

Unitl you fix the window just leave it up. I'm sure your motor is fine, but the regulators are made with the motors built onto them.
