Our door on our 2000 Dodge Stratus was frozen shut this AM and in trying to get it open the manual lock on the driver side door broke. The automatic locks still work but the driver side won't go up and down and does not lock. Also the door will not shut completely now. Is this able to fixed by us and what do you think we would need or does a garage have to do it?

The lock is built into the latch assembly which, as I recall, is held onto the rear of the door with three T25 torx screws. First I would remove the door trim panel and check for any linkages that may have been popped loose. Also look for any that were bent or deformed. That could, in effect, be holding the handle partly pulled which could prevent the lock part from working.

If they're okay, you might consider removing the assembly from a car in the salvage yard first so you know what is involved. You can play with that one to see how it is supposed to work.
