What's stopping you from reconnecting it?

I can not see or figure out how to get it back through firwall and recnnected. If it'd somethen not needed can just plug from the vacume check valve on the brake booster

It's a small plastic line that goes through the firewall. If it's broken or rotted away you will have to splice in a new piece to repair it. You may also have to access it from the inside if it's not sticking through any more.
