I need your help, 2000 Sebring Convertible Ignition Actuator (goes in between the tumblers and the Ignition switch) The piece that locks the steering wheel broke, so I replaced it, now every time I turn on the key the dash lights up just like It’s supposed to, but when I turn to start it blows the 20A Ignition fuse under the hood, which of course turns the dash off, even if I disconnect the switch from the Actuator and turn it with a screwdriver.
Now in order to do this I had to unplug the multi-function switch (turn signal lever, Lights, what have you) and the air bag, any thoughts? Is there some kind of anti-theft crap that I don’t know anything about, or some damn code I have to clear?
The part I replaced is not an electrical part

Something in the steering column has shorted when you did the repair. I hate to say it, but I feel it should be taken back apart and the wiring inspected. I realize that isn't what you want to hear, but that is most likely where the problem exists.

Sorry, I wanted to mention this problem will not set a code and the security system will not cause a fuse to blow.

I'm afraid you may be right, but tracking down a short has never been one of my strong points, The harness are quite tight (close to the plug) I see no visible damage, Thank You

I totally understand. They are a pain to work on. However, there has to be a short causing the fuse to blow.
