Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com

When you say no spark, my first suspect is the crankshaft position sensor. If you have a live data scanner, you can check to see if there is a signal from it when cranking.

Take a look through this link:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/symptoms-of-a-bad-crankshaft-sensor

If you check it and find it is bad, here is a link that shows in general how one is replaced.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/crankshaft-angle-sensor-replacement

Here are the directions specific to your vehicle for replacement. The attached picture correlates with these directions.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the A/C compressor.

3. Remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor:
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the bolt and remove the sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Replace the cam censor and the crank sensor. Still no start, just cranks. I noticed my radiator fan just goes on when I turn the key I do not know why, but I took fuse 50 out so it does not drain the battery. Well I am lost. Please help, thank you again. Dan

Hi Dan and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If the engine cranks but does not start, we need to start with the basics. The engine needs spark and fuel to run, so lets start there.

The easiest thing to do is see if it will start for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then we know it is a fuel related issue. If it does not, then most likely there is no spark to the plugs. Take a look through these three links. The first discusses in general the most common reasons for a no start. The next two show in general how to check for spark and fuel to the engine.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-cranks-but-wont-start

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-an-ignition-system

Start with those things. If you have already done them, let me know. Also, if you have other questions or need additional help, let me know. As far as the cooling fan, chances are there is a short to power, but that shouldn't prevent the engine from starting.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
