I have bought AE replacement Kool Vue mirror for this car. Unfortunately, I have started replacing the broken mirror after spending money to paint the replacement. Only then I've realized, that wiring is different:5 prong mail connector on the original and 3 pin female on the replacement.I wonder if it is still possible to keep the replacement by properly wiring it. Are there electrical diagram for both mirror types that would help?

Hi,

Chances are you can do it, but I only have the wiring schematics for the original equipment mirror. The manufacturer, Kool Vue, will need to provide the wiring schematics for their product. At that point, you can try to cross-reference what the schematics indicate to make the proper connections. My only concern at this point is the idea that the OEM part has five wires, and the new product has three. When looking at the schematic, I have a feeling the additional two wires are for a mirror with a defroster function.

Take a look at the pics below. I had to cut the schematic in half to make it readable for you. I did, however, overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Here is a link you may find helpful when doing this.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
