Transmision quit working all of a suden.

1999 mitsibishi eclips spider, 2.4 engine auto transmission, no codes on reader and no gears in all positions on the shifter, changed oil and filter, checked the cable and seen the spool valve move in the transmission, any outher checks befor removing the transmission.

Depending on what reader you have it may not pull up the code for the trans. Normally a pro model needs to be used for this and auto parts store don't have those. If hte fluid was burnt or dark brown there is a ood possiblilty that the trans is toast. Meaning internal damage. But try to have it checked prior to removal.

Such symptoms usually indicates a failed torque converter, which is rather common.
