tranny?

Have a 2004 mitsubishi eclipse. won't go over 40. Friend said could be input sensor. won't go into 1st or 4th gear. would sensor be the problem or tranmission

Get a scan done to check for trouble codes. Start here. Any control system such as sensors, wiring circuit or the PCM can cause the trans to perform in " limp mode".

Most parts stores provides free scaning services. Post the EXACT trouble codes here and we shall see what needs to be done.
