I have a 1999 mazda protege DOHC 1.6L value engine and I just recently replace the 2 belts on the outside of the motor that goes around the alternator and air condition and it won't start.

The drive belts have nothing to do with non starting but the cam and crank position sensors are both locatd at front of engine. Ensure they have not been damaged, connectors dislodged or wires broken.

They are the main sensors required for starting.

Crankshaft sensor is near the crankshaft pulley.

Camshaft sensor is at upper portion of engine. I do not have the diagram for the exact location.
