Do I need to add any kind of RTV or sealer on the new water pump gasket?

What I usually do is use a clear spray adhesive on the water pump side to attach it solidly and RTV on the engine side so if it's removed later, the gasket will remain on the pump and there won't be a lot of scraping for the next one.
