I have a 1999 Ford Taurus SE with a 3.0 L DOHC V6 with 188039 miles on the odometer My car is starting to have a overheating problem caused by the coolant overflowing the top of the coolant expansion tank. I have replaced the radiator cap, the thermostat, and the water pump. They used a Combustion Leak Tester, and the tester stayed blue to state that the head gaskets are intact.
Also, I had the radiator replaced after it was clogged. After replacing the radiator, the engine tries to overheat again when the car is driven. The shop check out the heater core and it is not clogged. The radiator fan is electric and runs. Is there still air in the system or I need to have them flush the engine block to remove whatever is restricting a coolant passage. I do not want to replace the engine due to the cost and they donà  à   à   t want to replace the head gaskets due to the fact that Ford do not have timing marks on the camshafts on this engine and the complexity of the engine.
Any suggestions for them to look for.
