engine backfire

I have a 99 chevy van ,5.7l. Was running rough but running. Yesterday, while idleing.it died and will not start. The entire ign is new including distrubuter. I've even replaced the fuel press.reg ,with no success. It just backfires thru ex & in like its out of time ,but its not. I'm tired of guessing,can you help??

1ST CHECK IF HAVE FUEL AND FUEL PRESSURE

run a scan on the engine first. then fuel pressure. it may be broken fuel lines inside the intake manifold. it may be a timing chain is jumped as well.
