1998 Saturn SC1 retrieving codes

I just looked at that scanner I saw smart cards to unlock up to 2006 Asian and domestic cars and up too 2004 abs.I don't understand why he says it needs a update to work. Unless the software was damaged. Its starting bid is 400 I would pass on that one.I got mine used on eBay for 400 with 2010 Asian and domestic software. It needed a battery which I got a nice one for 28 on eBay. But recently updated the software to 2012 Asian and domestic plus 2011 European software. They added a lot of special tests to the 2008 and down cars the 2010 software didn have. The special tests are the bidirectional functions of the scan tool.

What's your budget?

I think its a high price I would see if he would maybe take 300. Also let me know about the answers to the questions you asked him.

That one you asked about the scan tool on eBay only shows smart cards to unlock up to 2006 software. Thenewer the ssoftware the more special tests etc. Especially the 2012 software I have.
