1998 Saturn SC1 retrieving codes

I just looked at that scanner I saw smart cards to unlock up to 2006 Asian and domestic cars and up too 2004 abs.I don't understand why he says it needs a update to work.Unless the software was damaged.Its starting bid is 400 I would pass on that one.I got mine used on eBay for 400 with 2010 Asian and domestic software.It needed a battery which I got a nice one for 28 on eBay. But recently updated the software to 2012 Asian and domestic plus 2011 European software.They added a lot of special tests to the 2008 and down cars the 2010 software didn have.The special tests are the bidirectional functions of the scan tool.

ok well i will keep looking. if u seeanything good let me know. thought maybe it wasnt that bad. can pay more if needed. thanks for looking

the guy with the scanner answered a question i sent him. it has a software glitch that otc needs to do an update on scanner to fix. it has the smart cable and dont need to use the cards with it. so i asked him what that cost and what if that dont fix it just to see what he says

I think its a high price I would see if he would maybe take 300.Also let me know about the answers to the questions you asked him.

i might spend 1000 if that's what it takes to get a good one. seen others for just a little under that and some a little over. the one i have works but just dont do enough. would be nice to have a better one. i have a 97 continental that i would like to check traction control. sounds like it starts to work but then the car just stops moving even if u floor it and its just at a idle. says need to check it on the dash. i will see what he say's about the scanner. thanks for the help. think i should be paying u for the help

That one you asked about the scan tool on eBay only shows smart cards to unlock up to 2006 software.Thenewer the ssoftware the more special tests etc.Especially the 2012 software I have.You can donate more if you want just say this is for saturntech9.I am keeping an eye out for a scan tool for you.
