1998 Mercury Mountaineer starting, when cold

This car starts everytime but runs rough, for about 7-8 mins. You have to hold the gas pedal to keep it from going dead. Once it is warmed up, it runs good. We have replaced the plugs/wires, and mass air flow sensor, because that was what showed up on the computer at Advance Auto parts. None of this helped. We were sure that these things would help, any advice would be appreciated

Have you checked for engine vacuum leaks as well as have the idle air control valve checked?
