1998 chev Pickup 350 rough running

My 1998 chev pickup with 350 vortck engine runs rough. I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and have put in new plugs and wires. It still runs rough and the service engine light is still on. Help need and idea as to what may be the problem.

Check engine light on

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on
