Lumina turns on for 3 seconds and shuts off.

Hello my car is a 1998 lumina. My car starts up for 3 seconds and then turns off. It has no problem starting up but will not stay on for longer than 3-4 seconds. I was wondering what was the problem? Is it a anti-theft system or another problem?

Sounds as security system issue
with key on check if light on
with engine cranking check if security light on and or flashes
if so its the security system and key need to be reprogrammed
