This car is a deville limo 4.1 L. I am considering purchasing Has repeated problems electrical. Interior lights not work. And have had to replace alternator at least 3 times. Totally at a loss of cause or fix.

You'll continue to have electrical problems so be prepared. That is a direct result of the use of too much inappropriate technology but we buy cars based on which one has the most toys and gadgets.

GM has had a very poor generator design starting with the '87 model year. You can expect to go through four to six generators in the life of the car. To reduce the number of repeat failures, replace the battery at the same time unless it is less than about two years old. Due to their design, these generators produce huge voltage spikes that can destroy the internal diodes and voltage regulator, and interfere with the many computers on the car. As the battery ages it loses its ability to dampen and absorb those spikes.

If you are only considering purchasing the car, but haven't, consider this. The 4.1 liter engine in that car has a well deserved reputation of breaking down, especially if it ever runs hot. I don't know what business you're in, but this might not be the best option. I'm a GM guy, but the truth is the truth.
