The security system has it shut down. The only place that will have the proper equipment to identify the problem is a dealer.

Try this, turn the key on (run position) and let it set for 10+ minutes. It should bypass the system so it will start.

Let me know if this helps.

Security light will come on and lockout the car. Will then timeout and start.
Used to happen once a month but more often now. Could the key be bad?
Or can the security feature be bypassed? The key could be as old as the
as I bought used about a year ago.

This system uses Passkey II system, not Passlock so there is no relearn procedure. Your key should have a visible pellet in it. You can measure the pellet resistance and install a resister of the same value between the 2 wires connected to the sensor in the ignition lock. This would bypass the sensor portion only and the rest of the system would have to be operational. The keys rarely fail.

Engine would not start. Checked battery and it was ok. Bumped starter several times and it finally started turning the engine over, but engine will not fire. What should I look for?

Local mechanic says he pulled plugs and one cylinder had water in it. He says head gasket is blown and the gasket will cost around $300.00 for a good one. I had checked the oil before I took it into the shop and it did not have water in it. He says it will cost $750.00 to repair. Doesn't sound right to me. Is he trying to rip me off?

Sorry I wasn't clear, he is the same guy. He said the gasket itself would cost $300.00. Labor and all would be around $750.00. Are gaskets really that high?

The car will start up when the engine is cold, but after it has warmed up and I shut the car off, and then try to start it up 15 mins. Later or longer, then the car will not start unless I hold my foot on the gas to keep it idling until it will idle on its own, sometimes taking a minute or longer. What would cause this? I have changed out the computer and the maf sensor already.

I had replaced the starter and altenator on the lmy wife car I found that the tip of the starter was broken off in side the fly wheel area. After replacing both the altenator and starter the car still wont start. I tried to charge battery and it still wont turn over. I charged the battery for an two hours and still not turning over. When I try to start it its as if something draining all the power. I hear a click noise when I turn keys to start. As if the starter and Altenator are trying to turn over but end up not. I did this twice now All I get is clicking sound. I was wondering could this be my fly wheel or some other electrical problem?
