1997 Jeep Cherokee Slave Cylinder problems

I just changed my slave cylinder, my old one had a leak. Now no leaks anywhere so thats a good sign. I just tried bleeding it and have decent pressure. My issue is that when I step on the clutch pedal it feels like the brake. It just gets very tense and doesnt disengage the clutch. So im still unable to change gears. Idk what to do is it the air in the hydraulic line? Maybe I suck at bleeding idk I just need this to be able to shift again and its not the throwout bearing or the pressure plate cuz I did get it in reverse a min ago just bearly so its trying to work I think. Please help!
