1997 Chevrolet Silverado Rear window won't go up

The motor on the rear window is not working and the window is down and stuck. I tried pulling the panel off, but it is hard to see, or reach for that matter, the window and the gears. Is there a way to disengage the gears to get the window up until I can get to replacing the motor? It is supposed to rain this week.

Try tapping on the motor with a hammer while pushing the switch to see if it goes up. If not, you will have to remove the motor/regulator assembly and use something lie a block of wood to secure the window.
