The car you have is a second gen running from 1990 to 1994. Third gen ran from 1995 to 1999. So, the transmission would not work unless it is from a second Gen vehicle. To be even more specific in 1991 there was an engine power upgrade that probably had the tranny beefed up so that would be the most desirable to get a 1991 to 1994 transmission.
