The car will start up an run then die and when driving it will drop rpms all power is on though then I have to wait a while before it starts back up and the amount of time I have to wait varies runs great though an then it dies check engine light is on going to take it to a shop that can get all the codes an see whats wrong. There might not just be what the check engine light is for. Whats going on with my car? Will this be an easy fix? Would be something I could fix or will I have to take it in to get fixed? How much will this cost me to fix myself vs. A shop approximatly?

It could be a few things that are causing it. When the car doesn't start, you need to check if the engine is getting spark and fuel. One will most likely be missing. Then you will know which circuit to focus on. If the check engine light is on, it is a good idea to have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. That would be helpful.
