How to apply the liquid gasket

I have a Volvo 960 2.9 6 cylinder, and I am looking for information on how and to what parts of the com head cover to apply the liquid gasket and do I require any special tools.

I have removed the cam head to repair an oil leak at the rear and have been informed by volvo that a special roller is required to apply the Locktie liquid gasket. Can you advise as to exact areas to be covered and where I might obtain the roller.

You can use a small paint roller or apply the locktite then use your finger to tap it all over the piece where it mates to gether. Arrows mark the location. Make sure to get the red stuff that will take up a gap of.030" will be much better. You don't want teh red #271 that is different.
