No spark. Has brand new crank sensor, distributor cap and rotor. Apparently I cannot replace any other parts on the distributor. There's no interchangeable distributors. So basically I was told this one part (image attached) was bad. What are my options besides buying a brand new distributor? Can I modify and make another distributor fit or the part itself? Is there a way to bypass the problem? Help?

Hi,

For some reason, the pic didn't attach. There really isn't a lot in this distributor, so I'm not sure what they are recommending.

As far as no spark, have you checked the ignition coil?

I attached a pic below showing the distributor. What are they suggesting?

Now, here are directions for testing the ignition coil. Do this and let me know what you find. The attached pics correlate with the directions. This is the only part I can think of that would require you to replace the distributor. If this is the issue, the distributor needs replaced.

3. If not as specified, replace the distributor.

Secondary coil winding:
1. Disconnect the distributor 3-pin connector.
2. Remove the distributor cap.

3. Measure the resistance as shown in the figure by using an ohmmeter.

Specification: 20 - 31 k Ohms @ 20 °C (68 °F)

4. If not as specified, replace the distributor.
