Charles:

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. However, your vehicle is fuel injected which makes me believe there is a problem with the ambient temp sensor. This is a sensor that tells the computer the outside temp and engine temp so the computer can determine how rich or lean to make the fuel mixture.

Has the check engine light ever come on?

when you turn the key on the brake light comes on. But it wont start no fuel pump or nothin it will turn over but no fire. If you play with the key for a while it will start after a while. The turn signal switch is broke off does that have any thing to do with it?

I do not remeber when jeep started this (what year) but on the left hand side of the column just behind the wheel there is a ignition switch module that can go bad. If you are getting it to run after playing with it for awhile I would check this. I do not think the ign cyl is your problem unless your jeep does not have this module. Please get back to me and let me know thanks Curt

I just bought a jeep wrangler with a 4 cylinder and 124k miles on it. My problem is on cold mornings it won, t start.I have to turn the key off and on to get the fuel pump to kick on. When the weather is warm it will start up with no problem. The guy I bought it from said I needed to replace the switch but I think it may be a relay. What do you think?

The relay should energize the fuel pump for 2 sec. When you turn the key on(does it) if it does and still no start, suspect fuel pressure. You should test fuel pressure. When is the last ime fuel filter was replaced.I would suggest start with a new fuel filter then re try(cheap piece to try). If still does it, on initial start have fuel pressure guage hooked up and see what pressure is(28-35 psi) if not cycle key(w/o cranking) again and see if pressure increases(if so) suspect fuel pump. If relay doesn't energize for 2 sec. You may need new relay/elec. Diagnosis. Ok try that let me know what you find

This jeep stalled and now will not start. I have tuned it up with new wires, rotor, cap, coil, stator, and plugs. This distributor does not have a control module and shows nothing in the manule. The engine turns over fine but has no spark. Is there a sensor that would shut this down. I was driving the jeep when it stalled and now cannot get it to start. Any help would be apriciated. Regards

Hello !

Well, start running a hot wire directly to the ignition coil (positive side (+) ) from the battery and crank the engine or check for spark.
That way we will know if the ignition switch its good or not.

Do that and comeback with the results.

Good Luck!
