Battery was dead. Jumped it. Removed cables, and it died. Alternator is bad. Bought a new battery, and installed it. Car started right up, and runs great, but the only electrical that is working are the headlights. No dash, a/c, tail lights, radio, etc. What is going on? I don't want to spend $400 for a new alternator, if it has some major electrical problem. I would rather scrap it, if it's major. What can be the problem?

I'm thinking that will cost more than the car is worth? I'm not a mechanic.
