The blower motor is screeching intermittently, not affected always by turning it on or off or by accelleration. This happened on my last toyota pickup and I thought it was the speedometer, but the noise stopped when the blower quit working. Can the motor be lubricated, or do I just have to buy a new one?

It uses factory sealed bearings. You want to stick with them as there is a lot of debris in the blower box. This would make serviceable bearing fail from contamination and fling oil around in the blower box.
