I'm having the exact same problem on my 1994 1/2 ton. The brake light switch works when you hold it in place on the rod, or operate it manually. Once it is mounted on the brake booster rod, if you push the brakes, the switch assembly just slides along the brake booster rod. The actual switch or "button" does not get pressed to activate the brake lights when mounted. Did anyone ever figure this one out? I'm about to put a hose clamp on the brake booster rod to give the switch assembly a stop so the brake lights will work. Any other ideas?
